About

Michel Pierre is an avid photographer, aspiring novelist and scientific researcher in the making. He’s enrolled in the research master’s programme in literature at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, and thinks about one day doing a Ph.D. His academic interests are mainly the literary representation of New York City, the notion of Nothingness and the Urban Memory in relation to the construction of national identities.

He likes taking photographs, especially on holidays. Transforming himself into a Chinese tourist, he clicks away at anything random (no offence towards Chinese tourists intended). However, he mostly photographs architecture, and strongly dislikes being in the photographs himself. From time to time, he also photographs people.

Between conferences in and out of the country, extracurricular courses, essay deadlines, and writing an M.Phil dissertation, Michel Pierre is also working on his first novel. Slowly but surely, it’s getting there along massive amounts of cappuccinos. He also started doing the PR and communication for Knuckle Duster Agency, and has been invited to join the editorial board of scientific journal Kunstlicht.
